Several city organizers and farmers have come together to bring a new and redeveloped farmers market to the community that will foster support not only for our local farmers, but for our local artisans and business owners as well.
The goal is to provide a market place in downtown Turlock that offers the best and freshest foods and products from around the area, keeping it…“Always Local!”
There will be plenty of farm fresh fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, flowers and nuts, along with artisan products and baked goods.
Be a friend of the market on Facebook!

[...] Farmers Markets [...]
Currently I am researching Genetically engineered foods verses organic, and am amazed by reading an artical by Bill Lambrecht and Deirdre Shesgreen POST-DISPATCH WASHINGTON BUREAU St. Louis Post from Pro Quest stateing Monsanto Co. the agricultural and biotech giant based in Creve Coeur, Despite years of controversy over Monsanto;s genetically modified seeds, there hasn’t been a single congressional hearing on legisltation calling for lableing genetically modified foods, even as much of Europe, Japan and several other nations adopted labeling laws. When shopping for groceries at my local store I certainly do not see a label gmo on products DO I REALLY KNOW WHAT’S in my meat, vegatable, and dairy.
Are ther any farmers markets going on now (Feb.)in the surrounding area or RIPON,CA. Looking for produce and local honey perferable ripon aparies honey.
Hi Carolyn,
The only year around that we know of right now is Merceds Farmers Market. Most all start up in May!
In the mean time you could contact the honey farmers listed here and buy direct!
Is there a farmer’s market in Turlock? We are surrounded by fields, fruit, and farms but I haven’t seen a local farmer’s market! Is Modesto the closest?
Hi Annette, thanks for your comment. Actually, Local Choices is helping to start a farmers market in downtown Turlock this coming May! The markets will be on Friday mornings and will be open May 7th through November 26th. We have lots of good vendors lined up so far so make sure you come visit. It will be on Broadway Street between Main Street and Olive Streets downtown. Visit the Facebook page for more information: http://www.facebook.com/turlockmarket
