October 6th was the Harvest Festival at Lorina’s on Enterprise Road in Escalon, CA. It was a cozy little event with vendors, food, herbs from Lorina’s garden and pumpkins. Her children participated with a horse saddled up ready to give little ones rides, a well behaved pygmy goat that greeted everyone and a couple of lazy dogs (one being a beautiful chocolate lab).
It was a place that felt comfortable and relaxing as you entered.
While visiting with several vendors and snacking at Virginia Larson’s “Two Sisters Gourmet” table, we had the opportunity to enjoy the music of Sonya Spence. What a beautiful voice she has, singing a mixture of music as we shopped, relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon. Lorina also scheduled, her friend Robin, “The Dragon Dancer” to entertain us with her belly dancing skills. She entranced everyone while performing several dances. Then Sonya continued through the afternoon entertaining everyone with her lovely voice. (Sonya Spencer can often be seen at the Modest farmers Market.)
After purchasing a few Christmas gifts we visited with Lorina. What a wonderful vibrant person. She is a wife, mother, an athletic supporter, a gardener and event coordinator. I personally purchased about 10 different herbs and a few pumpkins. She grows her herbs naturally and in an organic fashion, though she is not certified organic. She does use organic seeds and no pesticides. She is currently updating her web site so you can see all that she provides and reach her at Lorinasediblegarden.com. You can also find her at the Modesto Farmers Market on Saturdays. Meeting individuals like Lorina is refreshing and I was pleased to have had the opportunity to attend her Harvest Festival. She has another event scheduled for December 8th called “Christmas in Grandpa’s Barn” if you have that day free you should try to attend.

Kat and Anna, (katnanna)
The two of you should be very proud and pleased with your hard work, time and knowledge that you have put into this website. The topics that you have covered are so interesting and informative. I had no idea about the importance of Organic food in that aspect. I really enjoyed the vibrant colors of the fruit and vegetables. It must be because they are Organic! I will look forward visiting your website. It was a pleasure meeting you both at Lorina’s Edible Garden.
